QoS-Aware Power Control Methods for Two-Way Amplify-and- Forward Relay Systems

چکیده
We consider power control methods for two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems. Traffics with different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements are exchanged between two transmit nodes where one of the traffics is a rate-constrained (RC) traffic and the other is a best-effort (BE) traffic. Based on the QoS feasibility of RC traffic, we propose two types of power control methods to maximize the transmission rate of BE traffic. In case QoS requirement of RC traffic is satisfied, we derive a power control method that maximizes the transmission rate of BE traffic. On the contrary, when QoS requirement of RC traffic is not feasible, we propose a power control method to maximize the transmission rate of BE traffic considering the automaticrepeat-request (ARQ) protocols. Through the analysis and numerical results, we verify the performance improvement of the proposed method. Compared with the equal power allocation method, the overall transmission rate of the BE traffic is increased up to 30 % depending on the relay location and the QoS requirement of the RC traffic. SNR Maximization at CSI Aware AF Relay
This paper concerns two-hop communication over relay-assisted Block fading channel. It is assumed there is not a direct link between the transmitter and the affiliated destination and the communication occurs in two hops through the use of a relay, where the amplify and forward (AF) strategy is employed at this node. In this case, in a Rayleigh block fading channel, the optimal weight function ...

This paper aims at investigating the superiority of power allocation strategies, based on calculus of variations in a point-to-point two-way relay-assisted channel incorporating the amplify and forward strategy. Single and multilayer coding strategies for two cases of having and not having the channel state information (CSI) at the transmitters are studied, respectively. Using the notion of cal...

This paper studies optimal power allocation to minimize symbol error rate (SER) of amplify-and-forward cooperative diversity networks. First, we analytically solve optimal power allocation problem to minimize SER for three different scenarios, namely, multi-branch single-relay, single-branch multi-relay and multi-branch multi-relay cooperative diversity networks, all subject to a given total re...

متن کاملPower Allocation In Cooperative Relay Channels
This paper concerns power allocation in relay-assisted wireless channels for two-hop transmission. First, the transmitter sends the information to both the relay and receiver parts. Next, in the second hop, the transmitter cooperates with the relay to increase the received signal to noise ratio (SNR), assuming the relay makes use of the Amplify and Forward (AF) strategy. Moreover, it is assumed...
